1979 Mazda Cosmo 121 Landau Coupe
Vehicle details
This is a 4-cylinder Mazda 121 (from before the 121 was a small car). The 121 is the non-rotary version of the RX-5 which was sold in markets such as Australia (also known as the Cosmo AP).
This example is a solid rust free car that has been partly dismantled for restoration. The seller at the time (on Ebay in Feb 2021) noted the following comments:
Minor surface rust on bonnet and roof due to thin/worn paint. Floor pans and sills solid (there was rust in rear RHS foot well, but has had replacement panel welded in - see pic). Some minor rust in door corners, rust in rear left boot area sill. Upper firewall and cowl area are neat as (see pics - you never find them this good!!), no advance cancer in and around fuel filler area, inmajority of boot floor sheet metal solid as, one small area of rust in advance stages (see pic).
Relatively straight; ripples in drivers door skin, and lower left rear sill, minor bend in top of front LHS nose cone, and has replacement LHS front guard. And thus LHS headlight surround has some damage.
2.0L 4cyl had been re-built. Originally a manual transmission car (rare!), it comes with full T-Bar Automatic conversion kit (including transmission, hydraulic lines, foot-pedals, T-Bar shifter and Auto-Selector Lights on the dash), OR for an additional $600, can have Manual transmission set-up and g/box supplied instead.
