Spotted on trademe NZ in October 2021, this is one of just 200 of these cars sold there new in 73. The seller noted the following information in the original advert:
1973 Clubman GT #1508
Here's the lowdown... Non-restored. Certainly used, daily driver condition. Solid car, currently warranted. Drives great. Is an awesome, fun, reliable ride. I want to sell, don't need to sell - so if you want it make a bid. You can make and offer - but be prepared to back it up with a bid. Don't ask what I want for it - that is indicated by the start bid and the reserve. You can tell me what you'd pay for it - then make a bid. And I'm not interested in online debate about merits of any details. Stuff done during my ownership (~25yrs):
- was young and dumb when bought it and got the roof gutter drip rails removed (like I said - I'm here to sell, not to debate). Also needed to do sills at that point - usual mini. Don't think they are GT profile. Also rejigged a new non-mini electric fuel pump.
- door cards were pretty toast, thus why not there. May have them/others in spares.
- exterior repainted maybe 10yrs ago - not bare metal and just colour matched. All interiors/engine bay/boot is the original colour high looks like perhaps Am Eye Blue -?
- new door, rear side-window and quarter-light rubber few years back.
- replaced hyrolastic lines with nylon set from Europe early on.
- replaced radiator with brand new unit.
- engine is original but has had reconditioning work done, e.g. LCB, head work... (more details to come). Running single big SU - but the original twin carbs will be incl. in spares to go with car.
- Included with car will be: the original GT seats; couple more GT doors; new (never fitted) carpet set; any other GT spares I have.
- Odo broken when I got it, never fixed it. Had issues with dash lights. Got a new printed circuit for it, still to be installed I think.
