1964 Studebaker Commander 2 Door Sedan
Vehicle details
A lovely example of the Commander 2-door sedan from 1964/65 - and they've done a nice two tone, adding the white roof (which on the Daytona Sport Sedan of 1965 was vinyl). This was advertised on craigslist in November 2021, asking just $7,500 USD. Bargain for something in this condition.
At the time of sale, the seller made the following comments:
The car was not running when rescued from a shed last year. This summer, I removed it's clogged muffler, freed up a stuck valve, changed the oil, drained the gas tank, installed a fresh set of spark plugs and new air/oil/gas filters. It started right up! Here recently, I went to move the car, and it would only run with gas drizzled down the carburetor. Hmm...
You are welcome to make me an offer, as-is. If I find the time, I will test the fuel system, and see if I can get the car running again. It still needs a muffler, the carpet could be replaced, a couple gauges aren't working, and the previous owner's daughter changed a flat tire, didn't get the lug nuts tight, wheel came off, and damaged the left-front fender (as pictured). I located fender skins and inner/outer assemblies, both used and even NOS (Studie parts are easy peasy, for the most part), but my plan was to have the fender repaired rather than replaced.
Mileage is 102,452. Engine was rebuilt at 78913 miles. The pictures speak for themselves. This is a very nice car, and the ideal candidate for an LS or other swap, if you want to go that route. The last Studies produced had Chevy 283 V-8s in them anyway!
