1978 Chrysler Sigma GE Scorpion Coupe

This 78 model Scorpion coupe came with an additional Scorpion (Mitsubishi later series) parts car, and was asking $15,000 in May 2021. Looks in great condition with little needed to be spent and when we spotted it, it had already sold  The seller pointed out that these cars were also marked in the USA as a Dodge Challenger (all part of the MOPAR family). As such, the seller had dressed this example up with some Challenger and R/T badges.

1978 Chrysler Scorpion. 2lt manual. Just had RWC. Currently on non-transferable club reg. This is one of the cleanest unrestored examples you will ever see. Has the very sought after pepper pots, and rear louver. It has also been badged as a Dodge Challenger RT, as they were sold in the USA under that badge. It also has the rare center rear light panel, which has now been modified to actually light up when braking. Very very cool! This is ready to get in and drive, or you could spend a couple of dollars on a few minor improvements. Has new front Bucket seats from Supercheap, but originals are there to be retrimmed. Dash pad has a few little waves, but is not ready to be replaced yet. Why 2.5 cars? It comes with a Mitsubishi Scorpion. It's all there, so you could put it back together, but there's a fair bit of rust and body work to deal with, and anyone who know these cars will tell you how hard it is to find good parts. I'll even throw in the wheel arch flares. I bought this as a donor car, because it has the 2600 Astron motor with fuel injection from a magna already fitted and running. This thing is a beast. I intended to use the 2600 to fit in the Chrysler, including power steering, and air cond. Its not too hard a swap. Also its my understanding that the 2600 being an auto, means the block fits the manual gearbox from the 2 ltr. so you can stay manual. I also purchased a second Chrysler Scorpion which was literally swiss cheese, so I striped it. It had the highly coveted bonnet emblem. It also had all the factory air con parts, so taking the air con from the mitsi shell will be an easy swap too. Also has second interior, spare guards, doors, and all chrome and stainless etc. kept everything that was serviceable. Bonnet was lace curtain so that's gone to god. Basically you will end up with the more desirable Chrysler body, an EFI 2600, power steering, air con, brake garnish, louvers, bonnet emblem and peppers. The ultimate combination. A good clean Chrysler Scorpion, without all the goodies, ready to get in and drive is $12k+ all day, so with that list, this is an absolute steel at $15,000.
