1989 Mercedes C126 560SEC
Vehicle details
Haven't added a 560 SEC to the register in a little while. This example, in my favourite burgundy colour, looks pretty good and has very low Ks (under 150,000).. It appears to be an Aussie delivered car. I'm not much of a fan of the woodgrain centre boss on the wheel (prefer the original). The only other thing I'd prefer on the car would be a beige trim which I think works nicely with the burgundy. Grey works better with a white SEC..
This example was spotted on Lloyds Auctions, and had an opening bid of 12,000 (16 days still to run on the auction). I'd expect something like this to sell for high-20s without an inspection, or 30+ with, assuming it is Australian delivered. The seller states that it's a fully documented original example. It's a very desirable colour so it might do much stronger than I expect. Lloyds auctions commented in the original ad "A luxury German pillarless coupe, once the star of the Mercedes-Benz line-up and an ultimate 80s pin up car with a $250,000 price tag! At the time of launch, the 560 SEC and 560 SEL were the most powerful Mercedes-Benz production cars built".
Great to get another rare S class coupe on the register. You can see the original listing for this 560SEC for sale here.
