1987 Nissan Skyline R31 GTS-R
Vehicle details
One of the best examples of the GTS-R we've ever seen, and certainly the best example on our register so far. This car currently (August 2016) resides in South Australia, owned by a Skyline enthusiast who has provided details of the car for the register. As noted in the GTS-R identification guide, the GTS-R has many unique mechanical and body features which distinguish it from the GTS-X and other models in the R31 range - all of which can be seen on this very original and pristine example.
This car is one of only 800 produced as a batch of "evolution" cars which allowed Nissan to compete internationally in Group A touring car racing. The GTS-R had particular success in both the Australian and Japanese Group A series, competing against other Group A entrants such as the BMW M3, Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth, Group A Commodores, among many others.
If you own or have details of a GTS-R, please contact us so we can add the details to the register, and preserve as much information about the remaining cars as possible.
