Another super-rare Studebaker Daytona convertible added to Classic Register. One of only 703 examples built, and the last year of the convertibles before the company shut its doors in 1966. This particular car is offered in Houston, Texas through Gateway Classic Cars, with a price tag of US $29,995. It's on the high end of prices we've seen, and we note that there is currently another Daytona convertible available in Florida on Ebay, which appears to be in good condition (and quite original) asking a 'but it now' price of US $24,999.

This particular car has an aftermarket paint job in a unique dark metallic red/bronze, however, the engine bay area suggests the original colour may have been Bordeux Red. The cream vinyl top provides a great contrast against the dark colour, and appears to be new. Overall it looks to be in great condition in most areas, and there wouldn't be much to do unless you wished to take it back to its original colour. The interior in particular looks very good, whilst the mechanicals could do with a bit of a clean up.

It's a shame there weren't more of these convertibles built, but that's of benefit to those who already own one, as they become increasingly sought after and more difficult to find at low prices. We have a few other 1964 Daytona convertibles here on the register for those interested. If you own one, we'd love to get the details of your car and add it to the register. Follow us on Facebook for more interesting cars found for sale around the world, and sign-up to our weekly newsletter to receive our best picks!
