1999 Subaru Impreza Gen 1 WRX STi Version 6 Sedan
Vehicle details
We've written about the Version 6 STI in our future classics article here, and this example of the RA version could be a great investment opportunity as the last rally-spec road going version of the classic shape. Offered here on motor-hub.co.uk, the prices of these limited edition classics are probably not going to get much lower. This one is asking £6,995, which represents a fairly reasonable deal on a version 6 STI, presuming it is in good mechanical order.
This particular car is a Japanese import, numbered 1,074 of 2,000 built, with its individually numbered plaque on the dash. The special edition RA version had a number of unique features. Standard equipment include the handmade engine produced by STi, exclusive ECU, quick-shift, power steering oil cooler, rear 2-way mechanical LSD, carbon strut tower bar, large size rear spoiler, roof ventilator and unique bucket seats and interior touches. A drivers control centre differential (DCCD) is employed to control the torque split between the front and rear wheels to handle the 206kw engine.
If you're interested the GC8 Imprezas, we've produced an ID-guide for the STI Version 6, and intend to make improvements to it and produce one for the RA version shortly.
