1988 Nissan Pulsar / Sunny N13 Vector Sedan (SVD)
Vehicle details
Last known to be located in Victoria, this 1988 Nissan Special Vehicles Division (SVD) Pulsar is the first we've got on the register. For those not familiar with SVD - this was a division like HSV, Tickford or FPV in Australia, who made performance modifications to models including the Skyline, Pulsar and Navara during the late 1980s, and these models were sold new through Nissan dealers as performance optioned cars. They were exclusive to Australia, and essentially built to reap reward from the success of Nissan's participation in the Australian Touring car Championship with the Skyline.
200 units of the Pulsar are believed to have been produced in SVD form. These cars received several modifications. Mechanically, they had tuned length Stainless steel extractors, Bilstein shock absorbers all round, specialty returned springs and struts, 14" x 6" alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle tyres, and a Viscous LSD mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Aesthetically there were hand crafted Recaro seats, a two-tone paint scheme, unique decals and an individually numbered badge applied to the dashboard. An original advertisement for the Vector has been provided in the images.
