This GT was one of a small batch sold new in New Zealand in 1973. Produced in Australia, only 198 of the GTs are believed to have been exported to New Zealand. The details of this car were found in an old GT forum that's unfortunately no longer online, with the car selling at auction in 2008 for only $3.600 (NZD). An unbelievably low price by today's standards.

According to forum discussion, some club members reportedly checked out the car when it was available, and confirmed it had the correct prefix, and 1206 engine prefix, which is correct for a 1973 Clubman GT. The colour (Home On Th'orange) is also a late model GT colour, correct for this car - a similar colour (Cadiz) was applied to earlier GTs.

At the time this car was available, the owner stated that they believed the 67,352km were genuine - as the last service was on 06/09/1996 at 67,035km, and the car has been in storage ever since 2007 when it was last registered - until being offered for sale in 2008. The seller noted that the car runs well.

The forum members that had a look at the car noted that it was very original, but had an average repaint job at some point in its life.  The engine had a "UNIPART" sticker on the air cleaner box (correct for late GT), and interestingly had a standard gear knob (non-GT). The car was also noted to be fitted with a 1300GT steering wheel - something we have seen on a few GTs over time (unsure whether this would be dealer or after-market though).
