1990 Peugeot 205 GTI Phase 2 (1.9l)
Vehicle details
This one’s been left out in the sun a little too long, but the price seems reasonable and the car looks to be quite complete. It’d be a great starter project, and the market for these modern classics is looking very good, so it’s an opportunity to get into this market at very reasonable dollars. See it here on Ebay Australia with a buy it now price of $3,500.
Being a September 1990 model, this is a Phase 2 car, but it's missing its original wheels. Instead, what appear to be a set of Gentry edition wheels (missing their centre caps) have been stuck on for the time being. These GTIs benefited from a galvanised body, so rust won’t usually be breaking the bank like it would with most other classics. Instead, you can put that extra money into a nice new Graphite Grey paint job and some interior touch ups, and get this roller skate back on the road.
The seller notes that the sale includes a Dimma style body kit, which was ordered from the UK. Not sure if we’d fit the kit - we love the way the GTI looks in stock form. The car starts and moves under its own power, but it sounds like it’s not the type of thing you could just drive home.
