There are not many of these over in Europe - this one is now advertised on Ebay USA for $35,000 (USD), presumably targeting the US market where these early rotaries are extremely popular. This one looks to be in reasonable original condition, but it's unclear whether it was originally a European or US market car. Many Japanese classics have been imported into Europe from the US in recent years, however, these Mazdas are less well-known in Europe, and never sold in the larger numbers seen in the USA.

Like so many online advertisements we come across with rare cars, limited information has been provided by the seller about the car's history. We expect there would be some structural rust issues to deal with, particularly if it was a European market car from new. Nonetheless, a potentially good project and investment (depending on the state of the mechanicals and rust), with prices of these early rotary Mazdas on the rize.

If you own one, add yours to the register so we can track the history of these rare early rotary cars.
