We never like to see an XJC chopped, as they're both rare and beautiful. However, if it's already been done, it makes a very interesting project and could be an amazing looking car. This one is currently advertised on Ebay Australia, with 8 days remaining, and bids just over $1000 (AUD).

Many XJCs have been converted to soft tops around the world, and the interesting XJ Convertible dedicated website suggesting there are more than 50 examples in existence. Unfortunately, the seller doesn't have any information on whether this particular car was created by a reputable coachbuilder, and there's no evidence of engineering compliance. Any prospective buyers should therefore consider the potential additional costs that may be incurred beyond a standard restoration.

The car needs a lot of work, but most of the bits are there. We'll update this page at the end of the auction with the price, which will certainly be rising in the coming days.

If you have an XJC or another rare Jag, please sign up and add your car and its history to Classic Register. If you're interested in these cars, we encourage you to check out some of the dedicated sites such as www.xjc.com.au for more information. Follow us on Facebook for more interesting cars found for sale around the world.
