This 1968 GT500KR is currently advertised as a classified ad on Ebay USA, claiming to be one of seven SAAC documented vehicles, and with an appropriately scary price tag over $200,000 (USD). Considering we’ve seen several others in more original form under this price, we consider this one a bit too steep, but nonetheless a well restored example.

The 1968 GT500 saw the introduction of a revised front-end design, and the factory 428 ‘Cobra Jet’ motor, producing a claimed 335hp (although most suggest the figure was much closer to 400hp. This model saw several other changes or unique features, including Stewart Warner oil pressure and amperage instruments, Cobra embossed console, and Cobra Jet emblems on the fenders, dash and fuel cap. Ten spoke alloy wheels (as applied to this example) were also a factory option.

This particular car has received a substantial restoration, after claiming to have been found in a junk yard some years ago, having been stolen, stripped of its engine and set on fire. The seller notes that the engine and transmission that replaced the originals are the correct type and the correct era, but of course will not be the full matching number units.
