1973 Leyland Mini Clubman GT
Vehicle details
This export Australian GT (one of around 200 exported new to NZ) was advertised on trademe.co.nz, with a final bid of $7,000 (NZD) - selling on 19 July 2017. For more information on the GTs, have a look at Classic register's GT information guide, or check out the other cars on the Clubman GT register.
At the time of sale, the seller made the following comments:
Rare!!! Genuine matching numbers Australian clubman GT mini. One of only 1200 ever made. Essentially a cooper S in a clubman body from factory.
Live rego (on hold) - and all tags etc present.
Body is quite rusty as pictured... it has been media blasted so you can see exactly what is what. Boot floor almost gone.. rusty sills and a panels and other areas too. The floors and roof are overall quite good. What you see is what it is... original body. Chassis number in radiator shroud and body number in firewall as pictured.
Matching numbers block present. Gearbox with correct number on housing (23/ for GT). Correct head with 22g1805 etc.
Pretty much all the bits there (I.e. 7.5" disc brakes and booster/brackets, oil cooler and brackets, twin fuel tanks, instrument cluster (120mph, 6500rpm tachometer), correct carbs (dismantled) including inlet manifold and twin filter box, 5x rostyle rims (some kerb/bead damage) etc etc. what I have pictured is what you get.. no more, no less. Pretty much all the hard to get/exclusive parts.. it's only smaller generic normal mini parts and bolts/clips etc that's not there.
This is a total rebuild/restoration.. not for the faint hearted.. but a very desirable valuable car once finished!!
