This nice example of an early MKII Corona was advertised on craigslist in June 2018, asking $8,500. The seller at the time noted the following details: I have a very straight 1970 Toyota Corona Mark II - 2 door hardtop coupe . This little car is a Very Rare Collector Car and could very well be the only 1/2 Vinyl Top left in the States....

the Vin# RT72-156797 and the mileage is shown in the pic of the odometer.

It's time to own a piece of Japanese History. This is a 1970 Toyota Corona Mark II Coupe with a 1/2 vinyl top, in great condition for its age. No rust, no dents, Just one small area at the front passenger's fender just ahead of the door close to the bottom, needs paint. See pic of front passenger fender.

The engine is a 1900 8RC with an automatic and she purr's like a kitten. However, it could use someone adjusting the carb better than me...I'm not a Mechanic.

This car was my project car. Until I was diagnosed with bladder cancer...I just don't have the energy to finish it. With that said, I don't want to leave my wife with the headache of selling the little car, after I'm gone either. I have put the car back together, except for a few things and it runs great.

Here's a list of the things I never got to;

1) Belt rubber at the side window, glass to body
2) New back window rubber
3) The 1/2 vinyl top (could very well be the only 1/2 vinyl top left in the US).
4) A new headliner (Weather got it at the back-window area, I have it taped up right now)
5) Windshield washer tank (It's sitting there but needs the hoses)
6) The windshield wiper cowling needs repaired better in the center. (see pic of the
front hood)

The little car is about 3/4 of the way restored. it's not registered. I do have the Title in hand. I've been in restore mode. The paint is original. I just had to buff the car out as you can see in the pics.... I tried to give you an overview of start to now. I have about 185 mb of pics of the restore so far...

Interior is in new condition except the headliner, back at the back-window area. Seats are brand new. also, brand new pad and OEM carpet. brand new roof rail rubber. Dash is in great shape. The radio still works and hasn't been messed with. All the chrome to the car is in the trunk.

The Disc and Drum brakes are in great shape, the engine (a 1,900 cc inline-four cylinder engine) and the engine bay have new paint, see pics1. Brand new battery, brand new brake master cylinder. The little car is an automatic. the brake lights need a switch
installed (new one in the trunk) All other lights work great...

It's missing one of the badges at the driver's front fender...I had a mechanic fix the license frame as it's also the cover for the gas cap... So, the hinges are all fixed and works great. Since I took the pics I have installed the windshield wipers.

I've been working on this car for four years and have always kept it under cover and dry. I have a lot of time, work, and money in this little car.
