1975 Jaguar XJC 4.2l
Vehicle details
A great project with a lot of the hard work and money already spent. A great opportunity, this example was advertised on trademe.co.nz in July 2018, with a starting id of $10,000 NZD. We're expecting these cars to really take off in price over the next decade - the lowest build number production Jaguars (and daimlers).
Check out the others on the Jaguar XJC Register.
At the time this car was advertised, the seller noted the following: I have been looking after this for the last 12 years with the intent on completing the restoration. This obviously hasn't happened... And i'm probably never going to get around to it.
I'm hoping that someone else can give this the love it needs and get it back on the road again.
Its a 1975 Jaguar XJC 4.2 pillarless coupe. These are rare and handsome beasts!
Its in a lot of bits. And is not 100% complete, however almost all the coupe specific stuff is there.
The two top selling points for this:
1 - Reg on hold!
2- The shell is "as new"
There is over 25k of recipts for panels and seals alone, just for the shell (and this is from the 90s, so think of inflation!)
This is the perfect base for a xjc build. All the expensive work has been done.
I was going to run a v12 in it. But new owner can choose what engine they put in.
The shell is like new, inside and out. No rust, no bog, its immaculate. All of this was done by the previous owner (by professional panel shop) and there are photos and recipts of shell restoration included.
The interior has also been re trimmed (and never sat in).
Does not have engine or gearbox, so one would probably want a donor s2 to pinch the common bits from.
Buyer should view before purchasing.
As is where is.
Has coupe glass (sides and rear) but no front windscreen. These are the same as a s2 xj6. So easy to find.
Also, just noticed now when i Carjam'd the plate, that the chassis number in carjam has ah "H" instead of a "J" this is obviously a clerical error (theyre next to eachother on a keyboard) and should be easy to rectify. This is quite a common occurance for older cars.
It has a personalized plate "XJCJAG" however, when i bought the car 12 years ago i didn't change plate into my name. So new owner will have to investigate how to do this if you want the plate.
Lots of stuff not pictured as trademe only allows 20 pictures.
