1973 BMW New Six E9 3.0 CSL
Vehicle details
Vehicle location
Advertised on Trademe NZ in August 2018, this CSL was asking big $$ at $189,000 NZD, but rightly so as it appears to be a genuine CSL. The seller was copping a bit of criticism in the comments from those suggesting it wasn't genuine, but put that to rest confirming the chassis number and ID is in the correct range for a CSL (not that we know enough about these cars to confirm the same!).
At the time of sale, the seller made the following comments: 1973 BMW CSL Lightweight. I have located the correct engine and gear box for this car. This makes this CSL worth considerably more. These cars were built in limited numbers to facilitate the homologation of the racing cars to compete against the 73' Porsche 911 2.7 RS . Evidently a tightly fought battle at the race track. Sold new in the UK as all RHD CSL's were.
This car is beautifully restored in the original factory colour "Golf Yellow ". This example has been in a climate controlled bubble for the past few years since restoration was completed in 2013.
CSL Lightweight's, have aluminium doors, bonnet , boot lid and a lighter roof.
Restored in NZ at huge cost, these cars are rarely seen and a coveted collectible , under valued appreciating asset.
