September 9, 2016 - Australia / Nissan
This car was advertised on Gumtree in September 2016, with an asking price of $20,000 AUD. This is the highest price we've seen to date for an SVD GTS 1 or 2. This is believed to be number 034 of 200 and is fitted with a manual transmission (less common than on the GTS1). At the time of sale, the seller made very few comments about the car. Unfortunately, we are only able to assume this car is number 34 of the 200 from the registration. The vehicle otherwise certainly appears to be a genuine...
September 4, 2016 - Australia / Holden
This was the very last of the Group A Holdens, and one of only 302 units built in total. At the time these cars were produced, Group A regulations applied to the Australian Touring Car Championship ('ATCC') and many other championships around the world. The Group A rules required a manufacturer to build a minimum of 500 vehicles of a specific 'evolution', such as a modified body kit, brakes or engine. This then allowed that manufacturer to enter the Group A series with vehicles containing those...
September 4, 2016 - United States / Nissan
This is the first "Impul R31-R" on Classic Register, found advertised on JDM-Expo offered in the USA at $27,000 (USD) in September 2016. This particular example is number 27 of an alleged 300 produced. The cars were produced in conjunction with Nissan and tuning company "Impul", which was a company formed by ex-Nissan factory race driver Kazuyoshi Hoshino. During the 80s, Impul was well known for its aftermarket performance parts for Nissan vehicles, including body kits, engine components and...
August 28, 2016 - Australia / Nissan
One of the best examples of the GTS-R we've ever seen, and certainly the best example on our register so far. This car currently (August 2016) resides in South Australia, owned by a Skyline enthusiast who has provided details of the car for the register. As noted in the GTS-R identification guide, the GTS-R has many unique mechanical and body features which distinguish it from the GTS-X and other models in the R31 range - all of which can be seen on this very original and pristine example. This...
August 27, 2016 - Australia / Mercedes
If you're in the market for a large, comfortable long-distance cruiser with future classic status, then this might be one of your best options. The C140 V12 coupes are among the most desirable of the S Class variants, and this is the first time we've see one in Australia for under $20,000 (AUD). At the time of writing, this car was advertised on carsales.com.au for $19,995. Upon further investigation, we stumbled across a Mercedes Benz forum post where a member confirmed they were in touch with...
August 26, 2016 - Australia / Mercedes
This 1967 Mercedes Grosser 600 Pullman limousine is one of very few in Australia, currently located in Kensington NSW asking $119,990. A lot of money, but these have become somewhat of an icon based on their engineering qualities. The original paint colour is believed to have been Anthracite Grey, which has been painted over in silver at some point. The interior appears reasonably original overall.
August 26, 2016 - Australia / Leyland
This 998LS was advertised on carsguide.com.au during 2016, and added to the register. We note that the chassis number prefix originally placed with the listing was 021x251m, which we do not believe has been correctly read/interpreted by the seller. The correct chassis code, which we assume applies to this car, is 022X2S4M09. The car appears to have had some fresh paint at some point in its life, and the interior has clearly been replaced with standard Leyland Mini interior (normally, the LS...

August 23, 2016 - Australia / Nissan
This 260RS Stagea was advertised in 2016, offered by "Heartbeat Cars" of Croydon NSW for $28,888 at the time. This is a series 1 car, being one of just under 1000 units produced of what is effectively a "GTR wagon". I have a few questions about the car, particularly regarding the dashboard, which does not appear to have its original piano finish / storage area etc - the dash looks like it is from a RS4 Stagea, which makes me think it could be a conversion - only running the VIN through Nissan's...
August 23, 2016 - Australia / Nissan
This 260RS Stagea was advertised in 2016, offered by "Heartbeat Cars" of Croydon NSW for $28,999 at the time. This is a series 1 car, being one of just under 1000 units produced of what is effectively a "GTR wagon". The car appears in relatively original condition, with aftermarket rims, but otherwise seems relatively original aesthetically. See the Stagea 260RS information guide here for further information on these unique and rare cars. We would love to get more of these on Classic Register...
August 22, 2016 - Australia / Nissan
This 260RS Stagea was believed to have been advertised in 2015, offered by Motorman Imports of Queensland for $19,000 at the time. This is a series 1 car, being one of just under 1000 units produced of what is effectively a "GTR wagon". The car appears in relatively original condition, although we note that the dashboard has been changed to silver finishes, as opposed to the standard piano black/blue finish which is standard on the 260RS. The Stagea 260RS information guide here for further...
August 22, 2016 - Guam (USA) / Leyland
An original Australian Clubman GT, which found its way to the USA, sold through BAT Auctions, and its new owner is believed to be in Guam! There were only around 1200 of the Australian GTs produced, and according to historical records, one car was originally delivered to the USA - believed to be another car, not this one. This GT sold for $15,000 USD in 2015, a good price, and one which reflects the excellent condition of the car. According to the Identification guide created on Classic Register...
