February 11, 2017 - Australia / Nissan
This GTS1 was being parted out by the owner in September 2016 - however, we have since been told that the car was never wrecked, and is still alive and well! Number 032 of 200 built. The car was last located in adelaide, but unfortunately we were not able to confirm the precise chassis number of the car, only the unique build number. If anyone has further information on this car, please comment or get in touch. If you have a GTS1, please add it to Classic register - we now have a growing number...
February 10, 2017 - United Kingdom / Sedan
We've written about the Version 6 STI in our future classics article here, and this example of the RA version could be a great investment opportunity as the last rally-spec road going version of the classic shape. Offered here on motor-hub.co.uk, the prices of these limited edition classics are probably not going to get much lower. This one is asking £6,995, which represents a fairly reasonable deal on a version 6 STI, presuming it is in good mechanical order. This particular car is a Japanese...
February 9, 2017 - Australia / Holden
One for the collector. Many know of the Holden Dealer Team ("HDT") through Australian touring car racing, and HDT cars of the 80s now attract serious investment money. Like HDT, the Country Dealer Team ("CDT") created their own performance versions of various cars, and competed in touring car racing with driver and manager James Faneco, using the Holden Gemini. We just stumbled upon this example on uniquecarsales.com.au CDT is best known for their Geminis which were enhanced and sold through the...
February 9, 2017 - United States / Chevrolet
This Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe is one of just over 6000 built for the 1987 year, and looks to be in pristine condition. The 1987 model was made in far higher numbers than the 1986 Aerocoupe, where only 200 examples were produced for NASCAR homologation purposes. Nonetheless, 6000 is not a particularly large production run for these uniquely shaped Monte Carlos, and we're certainly seeing price increases for good examples, with this one here on Hemmings asking (US) $16,999. The SS Aerocoupe was...
February 9, 2017 - United States / Convertible
Another super-rare Studebaker Daytona convertible added to Classic Register. One of only 703 examples built, and the last year of the convertibles before the company shut its doors in 1966. This particular car is offered in Houston, Texas through Gateway Classic Cars, with a price tag of US $29,995. It's on the high end of prices we've seen, and we note that there is currently another Daytona convertible available in Florida on Ebay, which appears to be in good condition (and quite original)...
February 8, 2017 - United States / Citroen
Rare enough in Australia, we've found an Aussie spec XC Falcon coupe for sale in the USA ( see it here). According to the seller, less than two-dozen of these are believed to be in the States, and we can imagine they would receive a few confused looks over there. The XC Falcon was the last of the factory Falcon coupes, and today are highly desirable, with many choosing to make GT replicas. This particular example is not the highly prized GT model, but has had a substantial amount invested in it...
February 8, 2017 - Australia / Mini
Car is restored as close as possible to original specs. Body is Snow White only, not two tone as this was original. The interior is presently black as the original interior is unknown, the car having a Clubman interior fitted on purchase from previous owner. The engine fitted at present is not the original.
February 8, 2017 - United Kingdom / Jaguar
Built from 1995 - 1996, this final edition XJS known as the "Celebration" was the last iteration of the XJS model which had been introduced all the way back in 1976, and was designated to celebrate the 60th year of the Jaguar company. Although styling at the car's introduction was controversial, a 21 year production run and relatively strong sales demonstrate it was well ahead of its time, and we certainly think it looks better with every year. This example is currently offered through a dealer...
February 7, 2017 - Australia / Ford
A no-reserve auction for an EA Brock B8 Falcon (number 102 of 131), here on Ebay Australia. With such low numbers built, rarely do you get the opportunity to acquire one, and in auction format this will certainly be an interesting test as to market values. Through his company Austech Automotive Developments, the 9-times Bathurst winner Peter Brock decided he wanted to produce a number of vehicles based on the Falcon S and Fairmont Ghia models, which represented brand new Falcon architecture at...
February 5, 2017 - United States / Mercedes
It needs a lot of work, but it's not a bad 'buy it now' price of $8,500 for this 250 SE offered in Texas on Ebay USA. The rare V8 models of this series are by far the most desirable, but the 250 6-cylinder powered coupe is by no means in oversupply, with just over 5,000 units originally produced. The paint is quite poor, and the interior sadly has seen much better days, but overall the car appears solid enough to be worth saving despite having to throw a fair bit of cash at rust repairs, and...
February 4, 2017 - Australia / Mini
Another rare Australian Cooper S, this one in a beautiful original colour combination of Burgundy Red on Toga White. Built in 1967, this is one of approximately 4,500 MK1 Cooper S cars built in Australia, and they are becoming increasingly thin on the ground in original condition. The Aussie cars benefited from a few unique features above their international counterparts, including quarter windows plus wind up windows (in pace of full length sliding windows), as well as twin fuel tanks. This car...
February 4, 2017 - Australia / Toyota
Toyota made their Corona model from 1957 to 2003. This is an unrestored Corona from 1971 and is now a rare example from a bygone era. As you can see by the photos the car body is in a good condition but shows some signs of paint ware, rust and some minor dents. This particular example has the origional engine and this car has no major crash history. This car would be ideal for a restore. This car has just over 58,000 kms and was for sale at the start of February 2017 for $2500 AUD.
