This mini is a late model 998 LS, as indicated on its ID tag. 78 model 998 LS's had a similar ID tag to the 1275 LS, however, instead of an identification of XNFAD, they had an ID of XNFAB. The ID tag also did not specify "LS", as was the case with pre 78 models. This is my understanding of it, but please correct me if you know otherwise. Like the green 998 LS, this Gold LS is one of about 8 built, as a test case before production of the 1275 LS. It seems that this colour got a good response, as...

This car, along with the nugget gold version of the 998 LS represent the most rare of all production mini's. This mini has clearly been restored in the original Iridium Dulux green, with gold stripes (as was also original). It is said that only approximately 8 of the green and 8 of the gold 998LS cars were manufactured, in order to test the waters for the upcoming 1275 LS. From my understanding, these green and gold cars were distributed to dealers around the country to guage a response in order...

Unfortunately this 998 LS has been completely parted out, with only the shell left in a fairly average state. That's not to say it wouldnt be worth restoring however. This turned up on Ebay in 2013, and fortunately had the chassis number available so we could add it to our register. However, we were not able to trak the fate of the car. If anyone has any information on it, including its history or where it ended up, that would be appreciated. The blue 998 LS was the most common colour produced...

This is a very rare mini 998 LS. The 998 LS was introduced as the successor to the mini S and SS, and was considered a top spec model. The 998 LS in some ways was more equipped than the 1275 LS, with items such as grille mounted foglights standard (whilst these features were optional on the 1275 LS. This car is the most common colour you will find the 998 LS in - metallic blue. Often, these came with a vinyl roof (usually dark blue originally to give a 2 tone effect). However, these days, unless...

About this 1275 LS: This 1275 LS was last seen for sale in May 2013, in Tewantin QLD. If anyone has any information about the car, including the engine number, pictures or where it ended up, please let us know. Like many others on the register, this one is fitted with a sunroof, which may have been sone in the factory, by the dealer, or aftermarket. If anyone has information on the types of sunroof's fitted factory or by dealers, let us know so we can more accurately describe the cars. This car...

About this 1275 LS This 1275 LS is an interesting one with a vinyl roof. I was aware that 998 LS cars often came with factory vinyl roof covering, however, I was not aware this was continued on the 1275 LS. This may be a custom job, however, if anyone is aware whether this was done on the 1275 cars from the factory, that information would be appreciated. The car appears to be very solid and original ,other than the contessa style minilites. Difficult to pick in the pictures is the type of...

About this 1275 LS We do not have all the details of this car, however, we do have the beginning of the chassis number for reference. If anyone knows the car, please let us know the remaining chassis and engine number details. Based on the start of the chassis number we have, I have estimated that this car was produced in August 1978. The car appears to have been restored beautifully to an original state. The owner has opted for brown stripes down the side. There is some argument over whether...

About this 1275 LS Here is a very clean example of a restored 1275 LS. The owner has opted to do away with the 12" steel rims, and replace them with 12" minilites, which is a very common move, and thankfully to LS collectors, has made the original steel rims and hubcaps in reasonable supply on gumtree and ebay over the years. Like a couple of other LS cars on this register, this one has had a sunroof installed. This may have been dealer done, or aftermarket. If anyone knows if this was a factory...

About this 1275 LS This is a particularly interesting 1275 LS, given that the entire body shell has been de seemed, with even the wheel arch flares moulded into the bodywork. A lot of work has been done to achieve this, and the car looks amazing, but unfortunately these modifications have come at the cost of some of the cars originality. The interior has also been re vamped, with all trims done in what appears to be cream leather / vinyl, and the seat fronts in a cream coloured cloth fabric...

This 1275 LS appears in very good condition, suggesting it has been restored to original condition at some point. Surprisingly, the restorer was able to obtain some original trim - the corduroy style red fabric in the silver cars, which as far as I am aware, does not exist anymore. A common additional feature on the 70's minis was the rear window louvre. These were a factory option, however, were often purchased separately and added to the cars. There seem to be a large number of louvre's which...

About this 1275 LS This 1275 LS was last advertised for sale in 2006, when it was located in Geelong, VIC. If anyone has information about the current location or status of this mini, please get in contact with us so we can accurately record additional information on this register. This car appears to have had a mini moke 1275 engine installed in place of the original 1275 LS motor. The 1275 LS motor should begin with a number prefix of 12H902, or 12H897. However, the number on this motor is...
