May 15, 2016 - Australia / Leyland
This is a rare Leyland Mini 1275LS found online some time ago (2006), where it was confirmed that the car was restored (see old and new pic). If you are the current owner and have any details on the car, we would really like to see where it ended up / whether it's still around. It is unknown how many 1275 LS’s are still on the road, however, we have managed to collect the details of a decent number of cars on the register here. If you have any information about any of the cars we have on this...
May 15, 2016 - Australia / Leyland
Probably the most poorly documented car we have on the register. This is the only image we have of this car, but at least it confirms the chassis number and the month of manufacture. This was pulled off a very old forum post from about a decade ago (found in 2016). If anyone knows the car, please get in contact with us. We would love to track this one down, and upload some additional images, and details. Looks like it may have been repainted black?? If you have any information about any of the...

This LS found on Ausmini forums 2016 - the post was from 2010 or earlier. If you have any information about this car or any of the cars we have on this register, or would like to have your 1275 LS put on the register, please get in contact with us. Please do contact us if you know the engine number of this car, so we can update the records on this page. May 14, 2016 - Australia / Leyland
This 1275LS, the 4th last produced, is unfortunately believed to no longer be with us (according to forum discussion on Ausmini). Reportedly, this car was burnt out on Tasmania many years ago - but at least we can put it on our register to acknowledge where the 4th last car ended up. The car's fate was revealed after a post from the owner who had the car in the late 1980s, and was following up its whereabouts in 2009. After the owner tracked the car's eventual whereabouts to Tasmania, the...
May 11, 2016 - Australia / Ford
The 1980s saw some great touring cars, and this particular car was born from this very unique era in Australian motorsport history, where competitors were moving from cubic inches to turbo chargers under ever changing competition regulations. This particular car is an ultra-rare version of Australia’s XE Ford Falcon, produced under the direction of the famous racing driver Dick Johnson. Having undertaken a little research, we’ve found it difficult to locate comprehensive information on these...
May 9, 2016 - Australia / Leyland
One of the most rusted LSs we've ever seen. Found on Ausmini forums - someone was restoring this as a project. If anyone has more information on whether the car was ever restored, that would be appreciated. Hoping that this one was brought back to life despite how far gone it was. If you're interested in the 998LS minis, see our ID-guide here, which runs through various identificatoin criteria, which may also assist with restoration: LS ID Guide
May 3, 2016 - United Kingdom / Sedan
Since the 190E 2.5-16 was included in our top 10 modern classics article, it's about time we started having a look at a few that have come up for sale to see what's happening with values. This car presents a particularly nice example from the UK. This is one of only 5,743 of the 2.5 litre Cosworth cars produced (excluding the later Evo models), and having only 77k miles from new, represents a well preserved modern classic. This particular car sold for £18,000 at the end of April 2016 through a...
April 29, 2016 - Australia / Leyland
We had purchased this car about 4 years ago damaged on the left front guard. It is now in the the process of repairs and restoration. We are going to try and keep the originality of the classic 998LS. We have replaced the L/H/F guard & re-aligned the front panels. Rust from the bottom of the doors has just been cut out & plated. Besides the inner door rust the rest of the body has normal surface rust under seam moulds etc which will all be removed over all I think it's iin very good condition...
April 25, 2016 - New Zealand / BMW
This ultra-rare BMW Motorsport 635 CSi is one of only 524 right hand drive cars produced, from an already small population of just over 4000 vehicles. Originally a UK market car, this coupe now resides in New Zealand, and therefore represents an extremely unique opportunity for those in the southern hemisphere. Having been repainted its factory colour ‘Cosmos Blue’ 10 years ago, the seller notes they have many receipts to prove the maintenance undertaken, having owned it for 15 years. See it...
April 25, 2016 - Australia / Leyland
One of around 800 Leyland Mini 1275 LSs built, this one in the popular Hi-Ho SIlver. The 1275LS was the last version of the original Mini to be released in Australia (other than various versions of the Moke), and is a particularly significant model, being fitted with a 1275cc engine and disc brakes - these features had not been seen since the Clubman GT of the early 1970s. To find out more about the 1275LS, please read the comprehensive identification guide which can be found by clicking here...
April 23, 2016 - Australia / Mini
This is another rare Australian Morris Cooper S from 1969. This is the last of the MK1 Australia Cooper S Minis, in one of the best colour combinations, burgundy on white, with contrasting red interior. This car is one of around 4,800 MK1 cars produced (and of course there are far fewer around today). The sellers claim that the car has been repainted, and re-carpeted, but has not been restored. Many people now try to preserve unrestored cars, doing as little as possible to keep them as original...
April 21, 2016 - Australia / Mini
Very rare MK1 Australian Cooper S in the highly desirable colour combination of Burgundy over Snow white (this combination also often done over Toga White). This was a complete barn find in 2010 - as posted on MK1-forum.net, and unfortunately we do not know what has happened to this car since. The car appears to be highly original, other than the flares (which should technically only be applied to MK2 cars). Under 5000 MK1 Cooper S Australian cars were produced, and of course even fewwr would be...
