June 21, 2021 - United States / Studebaker
This vehicle has only 1 owner. Kept under a tarp and then a garage since 1973. Engine was pulled to be cleaned and the transmission and differential was pulled to be used for spare parts but never got around to it. The vehicle has all parts. Seats are not pictures as they were being cleaned but they are in excellent condition. This car has not been updated or altered in anyway, other than some disassembly.
June 20, 2021 - New Zealand / Toyota
This GT-Four (ST-205) was advertised on trademe.co.nz in June 2021, asking $39,990. Values of the GT-four have gone up a lot recently, and you used to be able to get one of these in NZ for around $15,000 or so. In AUstralia, there are even fewer (with the most rare being the 75 or soi cars that were factory delivered for the World Rally Championship. The ST205,m although banned for an illegal turbo modification, in my view would have completely dominated the championship had it not been kicked...
June 20, 2021 - Australia / Peugeot
First one on the register - this one was advertised on carsales.com.au in June 2021, asking $43,500. Very low ks, and very rare in RHD. This model had the 180kw twin turbo V6. This car is a late model 2.8 litre Series 2 which was styled by Marcello Gandini for Zagato.
June 20, 2021 - Spain / Ford
Another example of the rare Ghibli, this one finished in red, being a 96 model. This one was advertised in Spain, with only 117,000km. Love these things in red - very Ferrari like, and I love that they still have the 80s styling stemming from the turbo model from which this car derived.
June 18, 2021 - Italy / Ford
An italian market Ghibli, fitted with the 2.0 V6 turbo, and very low mileage. This example was spotted on classic-trader.com, located in Italy, asking price on request.. Very rare, and vercy distinct - the Ghibli of this generation really maintained a more rigid 80s look - showing its links to the 80s Maserati Turbo cars.. Love the design - very different to many other sports cars of the 90s which had become overly curvy by design :). Check out the other Ghiblis on the register below..
June 18, 2021 - Australia / Ford
The second RHD Ghibli on the register - these late model 90s cars are exceptionally rare, with only around 2,250 of these cars built worldwide. The coupé was built for luxury as well as performance, and its interior featured Connolly leather trim and burr elm timber finishes. The automatic transmission was optional - as is applied to this car. This one was asking a very reasonable $34,000 as at June 2021 when I spotted it on Facebook matketpalce.
June 16, 2021 - Australia / Coupe
This is the first one of these on Classic Register - spotted on TCV.com in June 2021. The car has less than 50,000km on the clock, and is located in Tokyo Japan (at the time it was spotted on TCV, it was asking over $65,000 USD). These cars ae amazing looking - European styled, Japanese assembled, and had a 1.6l 4 cylinder engine with a 4-speed manual transmission.
June 16, 2021 - Japan / Nissan
This JDM skyline was advertised on trade car view in June 2021, asking nearly $50,000. Most early skylines are bringing big money now, and this particular model (the C210) is one of my favourite designs. We receuved a few (but very few) in Australia - mos of which have rusted away fairly terribly.. This one supposedly has low Ks - but likely has undergone a ful resto. I'm never completely confident in the Ks quoted on these older cars.. Check out the others on the register below.
June 16, 2021 - New Zealand / Chevrolet
Somehow a Cosworth Vega has ended up down in New Zealand. Love these cars, and this is number 0975 of 3,508. There is a great Vega Cosworth enthusiast site here, if you want to know more about these interesting limited editions: https://www.cosworthvega.com/registry-photo-gallery
June 16, 2021 - Australia / Amilcar
Nice example of the A124 convertible, with reasonably ks (200km) on the clock. Looks in good condition, and it's a "sportline" model, which received some handling upgardes (not exactly sure what, but I presume they haduprated suspension, etc). Nice AMG monoblocks applied, and the 124 series gives such a classy timeless look. The 320 version is certainly the best bet in the convertible if you're going for a future classic. This one was asking $34,990 NZD at the time it was added to the register...
June 16, 2021 - Australia / Ford
The first of its kind on Classic Register by the look of it - this example was advertised in June 2021 in NZ, asking $69,990. For years I found these a bit too edgy / not streamlined enough, particularly in comparison to much earlier, and subsequent later Maseratis (such asthe 3200GT). But the design of these Ghiblis has grown on me. You can see some amazing attention to detail in modernising what is an 80s design - as this car does derive from the earlier Maserati Bi-Turbo. Anyway, I think...
June 16, 2021 - New Zealand / Mitsubishi
Another little NZ GTO, this one spotted on trademe.co.nz in June 2021. Trademe NZ has some great cars on there, and it's one of my favourite places to browse, particularly when it comes to Japanese imports and rare items like this GTO. The seller at the time of offering noted the following comments about this car: "Recent restoration finish only 8 months ago, everything that needed replacing got replaced. Complete engine rebuild with only 1500 kms driven since rebuild. Head has been replaced...
