Spotted this great 205 GTi Classic - Build number 9 of just 30 that were brought into Australia as the final iteration of these classic hatches.. If there is a version of the Gti to get, this one should certainly be high on your list. At the time this was offered, the seller noted the car is in excellent condition and drives well. Looks immaculate for its age and doesn't look like it's done nearly 200,000km. Classic GTi hatch - one of the original hot hatches. We've written extensively about the...

1 of only 1,640 Hollywood 2-DR hardtops produced in 1956, this beauty was advertised on Ebay USA in April 2022, with bids currently just over $10,000 USD. This car wears one of the 1950s design ideas – tri-tone paint. Here, we have Frost White (72) over Black (01) over Mint Green. The paint and trim are reportedly in very good order, while the bodywork is straight and solid, the engine bay is very tidy, the chrome bumpers look good and fit well to the car, including the rear Continental kit...
April 19, 2022 - / Metropolitan
This rare RHD Nash Metropolitan was spotted for sale on Gumtree, and Car&classic in April 2022. The car is very complete, comes with a huge amount of spares, and rust doesn't look too bad.. This would not be a difficult project - and having it in RHD is such a bonus considering so many are imported as LHD from the US, where they can usually be purchased for a fraction of normal prices here in Aus. This, we believe, is a series III car - a late model Metropolitan which had the B series 1500cc...
April 12, 2022 - / Nissan
Always surprised by how many of these have survived, and some in great condition too. This TRX was advertised via Lloyds auctions in April 2022, and at the time I spotted it, bids had only just got underway at over $6,000, with 17 days to run. These are classic Nissans of the 80s - and who could forget George Fury's lap record from Bathurst in the Nissan Brick.. Just a shame we never received the 2-door version in Australia. See the original advertisement here, and check out the others below on...

This 1972 180B SSS was advertised on Facebook Marketplace in April 2022, asking $38,000. It's one of the most expensive SSS coupes we've seen to date, but not particularly surprising considering the work the seller has done, and the genera; market for these cars at the moment. At the time of sale, the seller made the following comments: "Expression of interest. L18 engine fully reconditioned no expense spared. Kelford street mild cam. Datrally manifold twin 40mm webers . Lots of head work ported...
April 8, 2022 - / Ford
Haven't had an RS2000 on the register in a while - this example was spotted for sale on Facebook Marketplace in April 2022 asking $25,000. It's the rare 2-door, and is stated by the seller to be a matching numbers original car. Being a Ford, the engine number should match the car number. The car has its original factory 4-speed manual, and 4 X 15" Bathurst Globe style wheels. Plenty of rust which is quite normal for an Escort.. See the original listing here.
April 6, 2022 - / Mercedes
This one is another early Australian delivered car, being a December 1993 built 500 SEC. This sold via Grays Auctions online for $17,000 in April 2022, and looks to be a reasonably tidy example for its age - and low Ks for the age. There was another with over 300K on the clock asking around 15k on gumtree not that long ago. Keeping track of these, particularlyy the Australian delivered cars.. Quite a few on the register now - see a link to the others below..
April 2, 2022 - / Coupe
Very rare, this is an Australian delivered example of the 240C (called the 260C in South Africa where it was fitted with a 2.6 apparently). I love this body style - mustang like tail lights and nicely integrated bumpers. One of the best looking luxury Japanese coupes of the time. We saw this one advertised for sale probably 3-4 years ago, asking about $13,000 - quiclly snapped up and up for sale now at $25,000.. Fair enough too. At the time of sale, the seller noted: "Listing my 1972 240C...

This is the Canadian Daytona that was offered for sale with the R1 Daytona Hardtop project (see the R1 Daytona project here). The cars were offered together as a package for $7,500 USD. The seller at the time noted that thius one was not worth saving.. I beg to differ - all Daytonas are worth saving!! Not great images available for this one, but we've got the VIN on the list, so great to have another on this register - 31 Daytona Hardtop cars on here now.
April 2, 2022 - / Studebaker
This Daytona R1 project was advertised via a facebook group in April 2022. The car appears to originally be Strato Blue, and the seller provided the VIN number, and was certain it is a genuine R1 car. The car needs a bit of body work but is very saveable (and as a genuine R1, is certainly worth saving). The car was offered as a package with a second parts car, another 2-door Daytona hardtop - a Canadian car. Total asking price was a very reasonable $7,500 USD. The Canadian car was far worse in...
April 2, 2022 - / Studebaker
Spotted this last of the species Daytona online in April 2022 - located in Indiana USA, asking $12,000USD. The car looks very clean and preserved, with the seller suggesting ithas just 35,000 Miles on the clock. This is a great opportunity to get into an immaculate looking and very rare 1966 Studebaker Daytona. The 64-66 cars, in my opinion, are the best looking of all the late model Bakers.. We've got lots of information on the 66 model on Classic Register's 66 Daytona information guide here...

Found this White Lightning 3-door on a Laser forum on Facebook, posted by a guy that just picked it up as a project and was starting work on it. Good to hear it was going to be saved, you never see these cars nowadays. Unfortunately, the build number of 300 wasn't shared on the post.. Nonetheless, one for the archives here on Classicregister.
