April 2, 2022 - / Toyota
A competitor to the Datsun 180B (and seemingly more rare), this Australian delivered MKII looks in great condition, spotted on facebook marketplace in April 2022, asking $32,000. That's the most expensive one we've ever seen. Images are not great, bit show the car to be complete and in good order. This has to be one of the best coupe shapes of the early to mid-1970s - when some great stuff came out of Japan. At the time the car was advertised, the seller noted "Original Toyota corona mk II 2...
April 2, 2022 - / Datsun
This project 180B SSS was advertised on Facebook marketplace asking $12,000 in April 2022. The car has been painted yellow - but if you look at the overspray in the engine bay, I think it may have originally been black. The brown seats fitted in the front and rear I also presume are not original - given the carpets and the door trims are all blue - which surely wouldn't have been matched with brown trim. The seller at the time of offering noted that the car has a 200B engine, but it's not...
March 27, 2022 - / Ford
Great to get another XR8 Sprint on the register - one of the car's that's seen the fastest growth in prices - rarer than the GT, it has the same mechanical specs but is a bit lighter - making it the fastest Falcon at the time with the 200kw trusty 5.0 motor. This example was offered through Lloyds auctions in March 2020 - see the original listing here. The seller at the time provided the following vehicle description: After the 200kW 25th Anniversary EB GT of 1993, Ford decided to use the same 5...
March 27, 2022 - / Lancia
This Scorpion coupe is one from just after the changeover from Chryslet to Mitsubishi - I think it's a 1980 model. It was advertised on facebook marketplace in March 2022, asking $6,500. It has the nice roof line of the earlier Chrysler model (with a vinyl top), but has the later model tail lamps and front lamps / fenders. Looks very solid for its age. In the original advertisement, the seller noted the following comments: "Considering selling my Mitsubishi Scorpion, paint clear is coming off...
March 26, 2022 - / Mitsubishi
Spotted on FB Marketplace in March 2022 asking $7,500 AUD., it looks to be an original car - very few details given with the original ad at the time.. Presumably fully stock! See the original ad here.
March 24, 2022 - / Mitsubishi
Solid example of the Sigma GSR spotted on FB marketplace asking for expressions of interest - this was in March 2022 ( see the original ad here). At the time the car was offered, the seller /everything is there, 5 speed 2.6 worked motor, cam, springs, gilmer drive, balance shaft delete, disc rear, complete interior etc. Looks fairly original and a great condition for the age.. Hard to say what it's worth - it's not a turbo sigma but still interesting I guess.
March 24, 2022 - / Toyota
I know this car was somewhere in Poland (spotted on FB for sale in March 2022), but not sure exactly where - someone on a Crown group posted it confirming that they were looking at buying it for 16-17K EUR at the time. Looks in great condition (I presume the colour is aftermarket as it doesn't look particularly 70s).. Got a few of these MS7- / MS75 Toyota crowns on the register now - check out some of the others on the register below..
March 23, 2022 - / Volvo
This original RHD 5-speed T5-R is a British car, imported to the USA in 2021, and was advertised on bringatrailer here in January 2022. It passed in at over $21,000 USD, then according to commenters on the site, was back on carandclassic the next week asking over $30,000. Insane times.. This is the ultimate colour, with the 5 speed manual..
March 23, 2022 - / Volvo
Recently Imported From Japan, this 850 R wagon is a second gen 1997 model with the update look wheels and a few other changes from the original 1995 model (including being badged as an 850R rather than the T5-R).. This is the second that has been imported from Japan - bring it on I say, we need more of these enthusiast Volvos here.. At the time we spotted this one on Gumtree Australia, asking $24,995. Not too bad a price considering many are in the high 20s now.. Wagon is our pick of the litter...
March 21, 2022 - / Coupe
Finished in the famous "Saffron", this C70 T5 Turbo is one of a relatively small batch of coupes (by modern standards), and particularly so in the top spec T5 form, having the 2.3l turbo inline 5, producing 180KW - similar in spec to the T5-R turbo / V7 R sedans and wagons.. This one was asking $10,000 in March 2022, not too bad for a nice coupe with plenty of power. Always though it would have been nice if they applied the T5 wheels to these cars (and the yellow paint).. Spotted this one on...
March 18, 2022 - / Bentley
One of only two of these we've got on the register - and well I suppose prices have gone a bit crazy.. It wasn't that long ago that you would get these for under $15k easily - not that they came up that often, but this one at the time of offering (2022 - March) was asking $35,000. Rare and with 220KW of power and AWD there's a lot to love about these classic Volvos.. At the time the car was offered ( see the original ad on carsales here), the seller made the following comments: 'm the third...
March 18, 2022 - / Ford
Haven't seen one of these before, but we've got a few SVO Fords on the register so though it would be good to record its details here.. This SVO V8 longreach ute was advertised on Graysonline in March 2022. The auction had expired by the time I spotted it, but I would expect it sold in the 20s at least.. Very rare and amazing to see an XH in such good condition and with low Ks. These things were workhorses, but suffered from severe rust, and dare I mention the hopeless door handles that plagued...
